I’m excited about the upcoming Jubilee weekend, particularly because last April
I was doing an RYA sailing course in the Solent so I missed all the royal
wedding joy in London …
(Although I did end up welling up watching
the ceremony on a tiny 5 inch TV screen on the boat.)
Having practically invented the good old British knees up, the Bourne & Hollingsworth guys behind the ever-so-excellent Blitz Party, Chap Olympiad and Prohibition events are throwing a Diamond Jubilee Party. Taking place on Sunday 3 June in the beautiful leafy surroundings of Bedford Square, the event will be as English as it comes; expect discussions about the weather over strawberries and cream, swing dancing, croquet games, live big bands, pretty summer dresses, linen suits and fine British food (yes, non-English readers, such a thing exists…) like hog roasts, Spitfire ale, afternoon tea and Pimms.
Tickets for
the all day event cost £15 – grab yours here before
they go (the aforementioned events always sell out…) I've already got mine, so see you there. Pip
pip.
