Earlier this month I attended a wonderful event hosted by Penhaligon’s to celebrate the launch of the new summery Peony-inspired fragrance Peoneve at the Rose Lounge in Mayfair. The latest floral creation from the royally-appointed fragrance house portrays an English garden in summer, bursting with the heady scent of blossoming flowers and green foliage.
Nathalie worked with Master Perfumer Olivier Cresp (from the spiritual home of fragrance, Grasse in Provence) developing the intense, dominant scent of the Peony using a fancy new technology called Nature Print® which enables the perfumer to reconstruct the delicacy and complexity of an aroma as close as possible to nature. In other words, this smells like actual Peonies.
Peoneve opens with violet leaf, which gives way to heart of luscious Peony, peppery Bulgarian Rose and a powerful white floral note courtesy of Hedione. The powerful base notes of earthy Vetivert, sensual Musk and warm Cashmere Wood stay on your skin for hours... I've worn - and been complimented on - this beautiful perfume every day since the launch event. This stuff is addictive and a must for summer!
