Last month I had the pleasure of visiting Jamie Stevens' new hair salon in Kensington for a cut and blow-dry.
The brand spanking new salon opened in early April (I attended the launch party to check it out over champagne with the who's-who of the hairstyling world) - it's a sleek, modern space with 12 chairs and a spa style backwash (with the best massage chairs I've ever been on) spread over two storeys.
Jamie Stevens had his own salon at 18 and went on to win the Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year 2012 award. He's resident hairdresser on The X Factor, This Morning and How to Look Good Naked and has worked with Kylie, Stella McCartney, Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova, Myleene Klass and Emilia Foxx. All of whom always have slick hair, right? You're in good hands here...
Plans in 2012 include opening a bespoke beauty area offering everything from facials to manicures and pedicures.
I opted for a trim for my neglected long hair (evidence above...) with some layers cut it to add movement and reduce weight at the length and left with a bouncy, baller blowdry. Weeks later and I'm still happy with my cut. I'll be back.
