Coupes are my favourite Champagne glasses, I much rather them to the usual flutes. There's something so glamorously old school about elegant crystal saucers and they conjure up Gatsby parties, old Hollywood, chic black tie events and the rip-roaring 20s.
I've been wanting to go down the vintage route for ages but I'm too picky - I like etched patterns but nothing cutesy, floral, with stars or overly feminine. If I was buying new, I'm particularly taken with the delicate Dagny glasses by Ralph Lauren Home, made from hand cut, mouth blown lead crystal and part of a set of sophisticated stemware and barware. Christmas wishlist, methinks.
