A friend is lucky enough to be going to Valencia for a long weekend next month and asked for recommendations - I blogged about some of my favourite restaurants in Valencia and a great trip to the largest aquarium in Europe but I never featured the fabulous hotel we stayed in, which I heartily recommended.
In September 2012, we spent 5 nights at the five star, Condé Nast Traveller Gold List (always a good sign) Westin Hotel, in a beautiful Grand Deluxe room with a private jacuzzi.
We were greeted on arrival with a bottle of cava, our relaxed aperitifs in the large open-air courtyard garden before heading out for dinner each night were lovely, (as were the nightcaps at the h club>valencia bar) the buffet breakfasts in the Rosmarino restaurant were a good mix of healthy and hangover-curing naughtiness, with plenty on offer and it's located in a quiet area yet quite central with a ten minute walk to the Túria river bed park. If I was visiting Valencia - and I definitely plan to return, as it's the perfect size for a weekend break - I'd be checking back into the Westin.
