Last month I was up in Glasgow for a weekend of good food, architecture and fashion, the highlight of which was the Scottish Style Awards at the beautiful Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. I relish any opportunity to dress up, so loved attending one the most stylish nights of the year in Scotland.
We were met at the grand museum with bagpipe players at the door and a Moët & Chandon champagne reception inside, underneath Sophie Cave's Floating Heads installation and surrounded by old paintings, beautiful sculptures (I wish we had more time to see the collection) and a crowd of party dresses and tuxedos.
I went for a classic look, channelling a touch of old school glamour with an off the shoulder scarlet red Phase Eight dress with a fit and flare 50s shape and tulle skirt, sparkling silver earrings, glitter Carvela heels and red lips.
We sat down for a gala dinner, live performance by White (who went onto win the Most Stylish Band), catwalk show featuring local designers and boutiques and - of course - the ceremony: thirteen awards celebrating the nation's leading names in the arts, fashion, music, stage, screen and cultural fields. Thanks for a lovely evening, Glasgow!
