Last month I visited the lovely guys at the independent boutique hair salon Smiths in Soho for a much-needed haircut. Following three decades as a celebrated stylist, Vincent Smith opened his elegant Soho salon - there's one in Clapham too - in 1997. Today the friendly, passionate team of award-winning stylists work across glossy magazines, brand campaigns and catwalk styling.
I had a colour consultation before and decided with Jamie on a cool-ish dark brown - Schwarzkopf Igora Royal Dark Brown at the roots and Gloss and Tone Dark Brown for the rest - mixed with Redken Diamond Oil (which smells gorgeous) for a super shiny finish. After shampooing and conditioning with Kerastase products, Bartek got rid of all my split ends and cut about two inches off the length. He added some long layers to remove some of the weight from the ends and used Redken Frizz Dismiss Smooth Force Spray as a finishing product. My hair feels glossy and healthy and I left very happy with the results - if you're looking for a great central salon, Smiths comes recommended.
