This was the twentieth year of the Proms in the Park, which had a line-up across the classical and pop worlds from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (obsessed since watching Jersey Boys) to All Saints (OMG childhood favourite) and Juan Diego Flórez (who hot-footed it over the road to perform at the Royal Albert Hall shortly after), Alfie Boe and the Royal Choral Society who all performed performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra. We took a couple of Pimms cans to tick off another British classic, drank champagne in the BBC bar and waved our flags along with 40,000 other attendees until the last note of the national anthem. What a way to end the summer.
