We recently attended the opening night of the new show from the acclaimed La Soirée cabaret theatre group at the pop-up spiegeltent smack bang in the middle of Leicester Square during the festive period.
This year's show introduces some exciting acts including the New Orleans singer - and absolute babe - Acantha Lang, a new juggling act, more acrobatics, hula-hooping, trapeze, comedy sketches - the Daredevil Chickens' banana act had the whole audience howling with laughter or shrieking and watching through their fingers in equal measure - alongside old favourites like The English Gents, cult striptease Ursula Martinez and the tennis racket-wielding and Guinness World Record-breaking Norwegian contortionist Captain Frodo.
I think this was the fourth La Soirée show I've seen and it's always SUCH a great London night out: cabaret, circus, comedy, live music and a raucous crowd under one red velvet roof. It won an Olivier Award in 2015 for best entertainment for good reason. Keep your eyes peeled for when they're next in town!
