Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award

Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award

Earlier this month, I had the absolute pleasure of joining a room of inspiring women at the annual Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Awards in the beautiful Claridge's ballroom.

After an hour of mingling over rosé champagne and canapés, the host, British broadcaster Emily Maitlis, welcomed the audience into the ballroom and the ceremony honouring the best female business talent in the UK began.  There were 800 nominees, six finalists and three winners chosen by the high-profile judging panel, with the coveted title award going to Severn Trent's Liv Garfield, the working mum of two kids who is also the youngest ever female FTSE 100 CEO (no big deal).

BFI CEO Amanda Nevill CBE won the Veuve Clicquot Social Purpose Award for championing equality in the film industry, and sextech entrepreneur Stephanie Alys won the Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award for her work empowering women, and breaking down barriers and social taboos.

Since 1972, the awards have honoured outstanding female leaders who share the same qualities as the champagne house's trailblazer founder Madame Clicquot over 200 years ago: determination, courage, commitment, business acumen, hard work, and who deliver growth and drive change.  Cheers - I'll drink to that!
